* DATES: September 19-20, 2026 * TIME: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM * LOCATION: 1620 N. 11th Street Mcallen, TX 78504 * COST: No cost to families * RSVP: Fill in the form in the section below This September, during Childhood Cancer Awareness month, the studio doors are open with a special invitation to children, teens, young adults ages 5-19, and their families whose lives have been touched by childhood cancer - whether currently in treatment or beyond treatment.
We want to welcome you into this space to create, explore, play or simply spend some time together in the studio. Different art materials will be waiting for your creativity and imagination to take over. These Open Studio days are offered at no cost to families through the generous sponsorship of the Studio's community partners with our Arts & Health programming, If childhood cancer has been part of your family's story, we would love to welcome you. My own professional journey began in a pediatric hospital, and from those very early years through more recent chapters of my work, some of my most meaningful experiences have been alongside children facing cancer and the families who love them.

Open studio is designed to be flexible. However when you RSVP we'll ask you to share your planned arrival time so we can thoughtfully manage the number of families in the studio, prepare materials, and have a space ready to welcome you.

A note before your visit

The health and well-being of our studio community matters to us. We will be taking additional care with studio cleaning, shared materials, and capacity throughout these Open Studio days.
We ask that anyone experiencing symptoms of illness please stay home and join us another time.
Families currently navigating treatment or medical considerations are encouraged to follow guidance of their child's healthcare team when deciding whether to attend.

Because the studio environment and activities are designed with ages 5 and older in mind, we kindly ask families to keep this in consideration when bringing younger children.
